His latest criticism concerns her acting career and the way she ruined it by demanding too much control over her films. "When she relinquishes control and allows other people to do what they are good at, she produces something like Evita; like Desperately Seeking Susan. The girl can act, it's just the wrong choices and too much control."
Desperately Seeking Susan? That's what we're holding up as an example of the kind of great contribution Madonna can make to cinema when she does it right? Christopher...you seem like a smart guy and I want to like you, but you make it very difficult when you say things like that. Plus, the girl can't act. And can't sing and can't dance all that well. She's really good at making religious people angry - which ain't hard - and stealing ideas from gays. Her career is smoke and mirrors and media manipulation. In 50 years when people look at her actual output they're going to wonder what the fuss was about.
