Hugh Grant will not be prosecuted over an incident earlier this year in which he tossed a container of beans at and kicked a photographer. Though the episode was captured on film, discrepancies between eyewitness accounts and that of the alleged victim have convinced prosecutors not to proceed. Additionally, prosecutors say it would "not be in the public interest" to try and throw Hugh Grant in jail over some hurled beans.
Not in the public interest eh? I guess the English like their celebs running around chucking beans. All fine and good - but what happens when instead of beans, they start chucking gourds? Or perhaps even cheese? Would you like to get beaned in the head by a big hunk of cheddar? I don't think so. What a nightmare, the sight of a wigged-out Hugh Grant coming at you, packing a big wheel of aged Gouda. My God - what is civilization coming to?
