How many last chances is Pete Doherty going to get before he's finally chucked in jail for drug and driving offenses? Back in May, a judge told Pete he had to complete a treatment program or face prison. It is still unclear whether Pete actually checked himself into rehab at any point, but according to Pete, he did have some kind of device implanted that was supposed to curb his drug cravings. But now I'm thinking Pete will want his money back on that implant - today Pete faced the judge again, and it was revealed that he failed his preliminary drug test. So it's straight off to jail for Pete then, right? Er...not really. The judge, Davinder Lachlar, has given Pete one last, last, absolutely last chance to kick drugs, or else he will definitely be going to the slammer. Probably. At some point.
This entire Pete Doherty drugs melodrama is of course a joke. The judge is a joke for repeatedly warning Doherty, who is probably sitting there in court the whole time doodling naughty pictures of said judge on a napkin. And Doherty is a joke too because he is a junkie who will never, ever give up drugs - not even under threat of a prison term. In fact, Doherty is probably looking forward to prison, and all the marvelous prison drugs he will be able to do while he's in. And the butt-sex. Cause we know Pete loves butt-sex. Just not as much as he loves drugs.
