TV shrink Dr. Drew has offered his diagnosis of Tom Cruise. The verdict? Serious childhood neglect led Tommy to become the tyrannical dickface he is today.
"A lot of people in the public eye who behave strangely have mental illness we can learn from, and much of it is based on childhood trauma, without a doubt," Dr. Drew tells Playboy. "Take a guy like Tom Cruise. Why would somebody be drawn into a cultish kind of environment like Scientology? To me, that's a function of a very deep emptiness and suggests serious neglect in childhood - maybe some abuse, but mostly neglect."
It took Tom's lawyer Bert Fields about ten seconds to respond to Drew's assessment.
"This unqualified television performer who is obviously just looking for notoriety is so grotesquely unprofessional as to pretend to diagnose Tom and others without ever meeting them," Fields snarled. "He seems to be spewing the absurdity that all Scientologists are mentally ill. The last time we heard garbage like this was from Joseph Goebbels."
Actually, the last time we heard garbage like that was from Scientology, which claims that everyone who's not a Scientologist is completely fucked up in the head. If any group should be compared to Nazis, it's Scientology.
Of course Tom no longer suffers from whatever emptiness may have plagued him during his life...Scientology has cured him of that. He is no longer petty, controlling and vindictive either. And he grew a couple inches and now likes girls.
