It's Official - Hannah Montana Rules The World

Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour was the number 1 movie over the weekend, hauling in around $29 million. Basically, everyone in the country who couldn't get tickets to a real Hannah Montana show went out and saw this. The $29 million is apparently a record for Super Bowl weekend (even Titanic didn't make as much over that same weekend during its epic box office run).

Here's the kicker though - the Hannah Montana movie, a 3-D "special event" film, only ran on 683 screens. To give some perspective: the weekend's #2 movie, Jessica Alba's The Eye, made $13 million on 2436 screens. The Hannah Montana movie averaged $42,459 per-screen, which is absurd for any movie of any size.

I guess what I'm trying to say is - Hannah Montana now rules the world.

Get used to it. Or, just kill yourself, like I'm going to do (later, after I've had a nice nap and perhaps a sandwich).
