She's Always Depended On The Kindness Of Advil

Things got a little too real for Cate Blanchett during a performance of A Streetcar Named Desire today in Sydney. According to reports, Blanchett and co-star Joel Edgerton were in the middle of a Blanche v. Stanley fight scene when Joel threw a radio and hit Cate in the head.

Witnesses say Cate completed the scene with blood pouring down the back of her head, but then the lights dimmed and the rest of the performance was cancelled.

The radio throw was not an act of unfortunate improvisation but was in fact planned. The part where Edgerton hit Blanchett in the head was, however, not planned.

Method acting can be a bitch sometimes.
