Jane Fonda may be old and washed-up (and saggy and turtle-skinned), but she still knows how to create a political stir.
The newest Fonda flap concerns Jane's decision to join a boycott of the Toronto Film Fesitval over the fest's planned 10-movie celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Tel Aviv.
A letter, signed by Fonda and other big-shots like Danny Glover (eye-roll), says Tel Aviv was built on "thousands of destroyed Palestinian villages" and says the Toronto fest is ignoring "the suffering of thousands of former residents and descendants."
At least they're not causing suffering for thousands of people, like Jane did when she made Monster-in-Law.
A rabbi has come out hard against Fonda and her boycotting buds, saying, "People who support letters like this are people who do not support a two-state solution. By calling into question the legitimacy of Tel Aviv, they are supporting a one-state solution, which means the destruction of the State of Israel."
How long until Jane is driving a tank down the middle of Tehran while Ahmadinejad tongues her clit?
