Scarlett Johansson thinks sexism is to blame for the way people came down on her over her disputed claim that she had an email relationship with Barack Obama. "I kept thinking to myself, 'God, if this was just, like, Kal Penn or George Clooney, or any of the other [Obama] surrogates or supporters ... there wouldn't be [any] question about it. Nobody would even talk about it."
Noboby really did talk about it Scarlett...not for more than two minutes. Do we have a little over-inflated notion of our own imporance? Scarlett thinks there was this whole swirling controversy. "I was merely trying to express my delight at Obama's commitment in his campaign in every aspect, and his interest and his support [in] his surrogates, and his staff and his fellows, and how wonderful and refreshing that is," she says. "And it was manipulated into such an unfortunate media frenzy of kind of a non-story."
Actually dear, it was Obama's response that made it into the tiny little two minute story it was. You said you had an email relationship, and his people replied by saying it was just one email, which made it seem like you were exaggerating the relationship and they were somewhat flummoxed by this. If you want to blame anyone for making you seem insane or stupid, blame them.
Oh, and by the way...people who make a living swinging their tits around don't get to cry sexism every time they're criticized, 'kay dearie?
