Naomi Watts is gonna pop out a kid any day now - either that or she's just going to explode like an over-inflated Macy's parade balloon. The interesting thing though will be what happens after that. Naomi, it seems, is a very modern woman - not the kind of person who would put her career entirely on hold in the name of motherhood. And, indeed, Naomi's up-coming slate of productions would seem to bear this impression out.
A quick check of IMDb shows that Naomi is involved in a five, count 'em five, forthcoming films. One of these - Eastern Promises - is already in the can. Another one - Funny Games, a remake of a creepy Michael Haneke film - is in post. Then there are the three projects currently in pre-production - Need; Kicked, Bitten and Scratched which co-stars Naomi with pal Nicole Kidman; and the long-promised re-make of Hitchcock's The Birds. Oh, and that's not all - it was just announced by The Hollywood Reporter that Naomi has signed to appear with the delicious Clive Owen in a thriller called The International. Doesn't sound to me like Naomi's maternity leave is going to be very long, and after it's over, it doesn't sound like she's going to be home much.
But what about Liev, her not-yet-husband? What up-coming projects are listed on his IMDb page? Love in the Time of Cholera - which is already in the can. And after that? Nada. Zilch. Zippo.
Hope Liev enjoys changing diapers.
