Barbara Walters's dementia is getting worse. A couple weeks ago Babs wowed us with her forgetfulness by saying interviewing Paris Hilton would've been tawdry and beneath her - just days after she spoke to a jailed Hilton via phone and talked about it on The View. Now, Babs has forgotten she said that - claiming she didn't turn down the Paris interview but was in fact snubbed. Said Babwa on The View:
I kinda figured I'd get the interview. ... It turns out there were other considerations.
Like the fact that NBC outbid ABC, offering Paris a million bucks? Said Babs:
NBC's [offer] was much more, and Rick Hilton said to me, "You know I owe you one, and I'm sorry, but we're going to go with NBC."
Stabbed in the back by Rick Hilton. Well Barbara, you've been around long enough to know that when you swim with sharks...
Seriously though, Barbara needs to get her story straight. Did she refuse to interview Paris because it was beneath her or did she want to do the interview and get shafted? And does she feel any satisfaction in the fact that NBC ended up taking the million dollar offer off the table, forcing Paris to do Larry King for nothing? And think about this for a second - what if NBC had decided to give Paris the million and she'd accepted? Consider the lame interview Paris ended up giving with Larry - that's what NBC would've gotten for their million. Man, that would've been hilarious - a million smackers for Paris to sit there bullshitting right to the camera. Seeing that would've given Barbara an orgasm - her first since the Nixon administration.
