Nicole Richie's history of drug use and anorexia places her unborn child at great risk, doctors have told Star magazine. One physician, Yale's Mary Jane Minkin (who for the record has never treated Richie), expressed amazement that Richie was able to conceive at all, and said Nicole must take much better care of herself if she expects to deliver a healthy baby. Said Minkin:
That baby is at extraordinary risk. ... Nicole needs to gain at least 40 pounds to nourish the baby properly.
40 pounds? And what exactly is she supposed to wear then, Dr. Minkin? Mu-mus? This is Nicole Richie we're talking about - she just ain't a maternity-wear kind of girl. Plus, those big sunglasses she likes to sport - those just don't look good on chicks with fat faces. And how will she ever fit her new, meaty feet into her shoes? Seriously doctor - you went to Yale? How did you get in, the same way George Bush did? 40 pounds indeed...
