Nicole Richie is not in court today but her lawyer Shawn Chapman-Holley is. Chapman-Holley has apparently filed a motion asking for Richie's DUI trial to be postponed from tomorrow to early August, on the grounds that an expert witness being brought in to help challenge Nicole's drug test is not available until then. Nicole herself is in Calgary, Alberta with her fiance Joel Madden whose band is playing there tonight. Update: Richie's lawyer's motion for a continuance was denied, meaning Nicole will have to be back in L.A. by tomorrow morning at 8:30 am local time to begin her DUI trial. Richie faces a minimum of five days in the slammer if she is found guilty.
