Dina Lohan is fantastic. Really. She is the only person in the world who could possibly rationalize herself into the following position on why she is pimping her daughter Ali out for a reality show:
"We have no choice. Tabloids and reality shows are not going away. If they know who Ali is as a person, it’s better.”
Okay...so basically what Dina's saying is that Ali is going to be famous no matter what. Like it's some kind of foregone conclusion. So, in order to counteract the negative publicity that's inevitably going to pop up, Dina has to pre-emptively offer up Ali's life for public consumption.
No chance of Dina just forgetting the whole thing and letting Ali have her own life?
It's really brilliant, Dina's way of turning everything around, and making it seem like the media are somehow forcing her to pimp out her own daughter. Like there's some great clamor out there for more Lohans in show-biz.
Dina actually seems to think it's her duty to make Ali famous. This is, of course, evidence of her extreme neurosis. If she actually examined the whole thing realistically, she would finally have to realize that she alone has created the whole situation by her need to live vicariously through her children. But, she's not capable of that. So she'll just keep heaping rationalization upon rationalization, until she's built her house of cards so high it scrapes heaven.
And there will be poor little Ali sitting on her paper throne at the very top of the house of cards. And here comes the wind gust...
