Rap stars Snoop Dogg and Sean Combs have both had their brushes with the law, but both still insist that they're the best role models today's kids could have. Says Snoop:
I think we (are) the best heroes for kids. We been through everything in music and in life. We give kids the best example to deal with everything.
And Combs concurs, saying:
A lot of role models have not been through trials and tribulations. You got to judge a champion by how he get up when he been knocked down.
Yes Sean, you got to judge a champion by how he get up when he been knocked down. And people are always knocking you down, aren't they? Like when that woman was getting all up in your face in the nightclub and you didn't shoot her in the eye, and didn't try to bribe your driver into taking the gun. Everybody said you were the one who shot her, but did you let that get you down? Hell no. You rolled like a champion, with Johnnie Cochrane by your side, and made sure you got away free-and-clear while Shyne got sent to prison for ten years. Yup, you definitely taught the kiddies a lesson there Sean - if you have lots of money and a good lawyer you can get away with anything. So, kids, just become rich and famous like Sean and Snoop, and lawyer your ass up when you get in trouble, and you've got nothing to worry about.
Thank you, Sean and Snoop, you pair of champions, for the wonderful examples you set. And keep on getting up when you been knocked down.
