Katie Couric was once America's Sweetheart, but now it looks like she's become America's Least Wanted, at least as evening news anchors go.
According to a Gallup Poll released Thursday, 51% of Americans hold a positive view of rodent-like CBS Evening News anchor Ms. Couric, compared to 62% for affable Charlie Gibson of ABC's World News Tonight, and 59% for creepy NBC Nightly News head Brian Williams. These numbers fall more-or-less in line with the ratings for the same three anchors' shows over the past several months, which have seen Couric falling ever farther behind her male counterparts.
So how did Katie Couric go from being the darling of daytime to a hag people actually like less than either dunderheaded Charlie Gibson or that crooked-faced freak Brian Williams? Could it be because they finally learned to see beyond her vaunted "perkiness" to the black soul lurking beneath? I mean, look in this woman's eyes people - this is an individual capable of unleashing great evil. Apocalyptic evil. In fact, it would not surprise me one bit to learn that Katie Couric is in fact the Antichrist. It's a good thing nobody watches her then, otherwise her infernal message might actually spread and destroy humanity.
