Paris Could Go To Jail, Be Ordered To Wear Alcohol-Monitoring Bracelet
The L.A. City Attorney's office has filed papers in the Paris Hilton driving with a suspended license affair. And if prosecutors get their way, Paris could be in for a very bad time.
First off, the City Attorney is asking that Paris receive 45 days in jail for violating her probation. Additionally, since Paris neglected to enroll in an alcohol treatment program per the terms of her original probation, they want her ordered to abstain from consuming alcohol for 90 days, and want to make her wear a SCRAM ankle bracelet, which would monitor her alcohol intake. And, because of Paris's flagrant driving violations, they want her license suspended for another four months, and her car impounded for 30 days.
Paris is scheduled to appear in court in L.A. tomorrow, where she is expected to argue that she was unaware her license had been suspended. It's Paris's assertion that her lawyers told her it was okay to drive - but the prosecutors contend that this is a bogus argument. If I were the judge, I would order that Paris be publicly flogged, if not just flat-out burned at the stake. But, unfortunately, we live in a civilized country (more-or-less).
