Jake Gyllenhaal stars in the new movie Zodiac, about a killer who terrorized the Bay Area in the '60s and '70s - so naturally Jake is now an expert on serial killers. Here are Jake's very insightful and brilliant observations about the serial killer phenomenon:
The idea of a serial killer is whatever we fear within ourselves. It's our own psyche, in a way. ... To me, the serial killer is obsession, and to me the serial killer is aspects of people's personalities that they don't want to deal with or that they indulge so much that it is dangerous.
Oh my God. Jake is such a fricking genius. "The idea of the serial killer is whatever we fear within ourselves." That's so true. Cause, like, I have this terrible fear of spiders, and every time I see one, I just want to go out and kill every blonde woman I see who's between 5' 2" and 5' 7". And he's so right about the obsession thing too. Cause I'm obsessed with almond-filled Hershey's Kisses. I would totally kill someone to get some. If I couldn't just buy them.
Jake Gyllenhaal - hot and smart.
