The crowd at last night's Pete Doherty performance at London's Hackney Empire will be able to tell their grandchildren about the historic moment they witnessed - the one where Pete and girlfriend Kate Moss revealed that they were engaged.
Yes, Kate and Pete are engaged to be married. Aw, and it was so sweet the way Pete let the cat out of the bag. He was introducing the song "KP Nuts" when he said, "I am dedicating this song..." At which point the crowd began chanting, "Kate... Kate..." To which Pete replied, "Yes, to my beautiful fiance." And Kate was wearing an engagement ring! Isn't that too marvelous? And then Kate sang with Pete, and at one point she made an obscene gesture! They're so wacky those two.
Gosh, I'm so happy for Pete and Kate - they've been through so much together. But now that they're getting married, I'm sure things will settle down in their lives. The tumultuous times are behind them for certain - there's only domestic tranquility in their future. You know, until Pete is found washed up on a beach someplace.
